Having used this tool a few times now, I've gotten past the initial shock on the price and wish I had made the purchase earlier.My initial concerns were related to the AWG rating of the tool, American wire standard sizes vs European sizes. I was concerned that the tool would only perform on a small set of wire gauges, but now that I have tried it with quite a few sizes with clean results I am much less concerned.As a word of caution, I am no where near a wiring pro. I suspect a pro can strip a wire clean to exact length faster than I can with this device, using a utility knife. However, not everyone is highly skilled in this area. I previously used decent stripping pliers but found it time consuming and difficult to do especially on wires where the accessible length was very short. With the Knipex, I need access to about an inch of wire and will have it stripped in a few seconds to perfect length with virtually no effort.Had I found some wire types/sizes/coatings where this was not able to strip satisfactorily, I would have posted a lower rating, but so far so good.
